Number of spaces increased

The National Childbirth Trust (NCT) has increased the number of spaces on its antenatal and postnatal courses so parents can find it easier to share their concerns.

The move follows recent surveys by the NCT in which 47 per cent ofparents said they did not feel confident looking after a newborn baby.Rebecca Soames, who took an NCT 'Early Days' postnatal course, said,'Being able to talk to other mums going through the same thing was aunique experience and really helped me.' The NCT will be providing afurther 600 antenatal and postnatal classes this academic year, with afurther 50 specialist trained teachers, bringing the total number ofclasses being run to 5,000.
