The Reading-based chain, which opened its first two neighbourhood nurseries in Brighton, East Sussex, and Rainham, Essex, earlier this year, has plans to open a total of 25 settings.
Buffer Bear managing director Dr Kay Turner said the 'social-enterprise multi-stakeholder model', which the chain has embraced over the past ten years through a broad range of partnerships, including employers, local authorities and community organisations, was 'an ideal fit with the neighbourhood nurseries initiative'. She cited the launch of the Brighton nursery in conjunction with the Government's New Deal programme to help the jobless into work and training as an example of the stakeholder model.
