Parents and children turned up last Monday to find that the nursery hadceased trading with immediate effect. A council spokesperson said,'Dorset County Council had received no official notification thatAmethyst Day Nursery had closed. We understand that it has closed owingto mounting debts.' A notice on the door said there were outstandingfees of 24,000. Dorset Family Information Service is helpingparents to find alternative childcare places.
