Nursery Equipment awards

Nursery World would like to congratulate the 18 winners of the 2004 Nursery Equipment awards. The finalists all received five stars from testing in Nursery Equipment, our sister publication, during 2003 and were then retested in more settings and awarded Gold, Silver or Bronze status. In the under-threes section, Asco's Rainbow Minihouses, a set of five stained and varnished stacking houses designed to teach children about size and colour discrimination, won the Gold award. Silver awards went to Rainbow People Panels from Galt and Full of Fun Stroller Trike from Toys 'R' Us, while Bronze awards went to Kids Barrier Corriboard by Killyleagh Box Company, Sand and Water Table by Little Tikes and Construction Truck by John Crane. In the Foundation Stage category, the Mouse Island maths-based software by d2 won the Gold award. Silver went to Kaleidoscope Mirror and Mirror Exploratory from Reflections on Reggio and Giant Dominoes by John Crane. There were also nine Bronze winners in the Foundation Stage. The award winners have all been invited to a drinks reception at the Early Years and Primary Teaching Exhibition in Manchester this week.
