Nursery World Show 2020 opens for business

The UK's leading early years show returns in 2020 with another packed programme offering two days of unrivalled insight, inspiration and innovation, and you can book your place now.

Back at the Business Design Centre in London on 7 and 8 February, the Nursery World Show 2020 will offer all members of the early years community the opportunity to receive practical support and advice from renowned experts, compare cutting-edge resources from a wide range of exhibitors and enjoy presentations and seminars from early years advocates.

With the revised Ofsted inspection framework now in place and work pregressing on the new EYFS due to be introduced in September 2021, two headline masterclasses will focus on how practitioners can can meet the latest requirements.

On Friday 7 February, leading experts including Dr Julian Grenier, Dr Jo Basford of Manchester Metropolitan University and Dr Sue Dale Tunnicliffe from University College London’s Institute of Education will consider the new Ofsted judgement ‘quality of education’, which spans curriculum (Intent), pedagogy (Implementation) and outcomes (Impact).

The panel will provide essential advice on:

  • curriculum content
  • key considerations for delivery
  • cultural capital
  • the potential of early science in creating a broad and challenging curriculum

On Saturday 8 February, Kevin Kelman, chief education officer at Stirling Council, and Professor Vivette Glover, visiting professor of perinatal psychobiology at Imperial College London, will be among the experts leading a masterclass on how the early learning environment, both in the home and at nursery, influences a child’s behaviour and motivation to learn, in light of Ofsted’s new judgement ‘behaviour and attitudes’ and the planned introduction of a ‘self-regulation’ early learning goal.

A busy programme of seminars will cover a range of topics including loose parts play, Forest School, reading to children, facilitating and supporting curriculum progression in the EYFS and inclusion, with popular speakers such as Penny Tassoni, Alice Sharp and Judith Twani.

The free Live Theatre and TTS Early Years Resources & Learning Zone will also return to the show for another year.

And the exhibition hall will be filled with stands from equipment and resources providers, training and recruitment companies, charities, early years services, publishers and more, all keen to discuss settings' needs, with lots of discounts and speical offers.
