Nursery World Show 2020 - Early years in action

The early years sector came out in force at the Nursery World Show 2020 on 7-8 February for two days packed with activity, networking, training and chances to stock up on resources

London’s Business Design Centre was buzzing as more than 3,000 visitors from across the sector poured through the doors to make the most of the leading early years event.

The Friday and Saturday masterclasses gave delegates the chance to delve into important topics, with Dr Julian Grenier leading on the new Ofsted judgement ‘Quality of Education’, and Professor Vivette Glover on ‘Behaviour and Attitudes’.

Seminars were packed, as leading experts including Penny Tassoni, Judith Twani, Julia Manning-Morton and Stella Louis shared their wisdom on subjects across the Early Years Foundation Stage.

This year’s special features were very lively and engaging, with the Live Theatre hosting sessions on first aid, pedagogy, ICT, vegan food and SENCOs; TTS’s Early Years Resources & Learning Zone offering inspiration and the chance to win a £3,000 STEAM Stack and Build set; and LEYF’s Early Years Careers Zone showcasing job opportunities.

There were some great new additions too: the Innovation Zone was bouncing with Zumba, yoga, singing and construction; the NannyHub welcomed existing and prospective nannies after advice and knowledge; and the Early Years Eco-Sustainability conference tackled the most urgent issue for us all.

As always, the extensive exhibition had enticing stands packed with the latest equipment, management resources, training and job opportunities, nursery food, books, services and information. There were special offers and prize draws galore, plus freebies from massages to macaroni cheese.

Nursery World North is at Manchester Central from 24-25 April. Find out more and register for free attendance at www.nurseryworldshow.com/manchester
