GRANDPARENTS DAY

Nurseries across the country celebrated National Grandparents Day on 11 September. Playdays Daycare Nursery in Bolton, Lancashire (top), invited grandmas and granddads to the setting for activities such as necklace-making, weaving and baking, while grandparents at Woodlands Day Nursery in Timperley, Cheshire (middle) enjoyed listening to the children sing for them. At the London Early Years Foundation nursery at Furze Children's Centre in Barking and Dagenham (bottom), grandparents joined the children in messy and creative activities.

FOODIE FUN

Happy Child Nursery in Shepherd's Bush, London, marked British Food Fortnight, from 19-30 September, with a visit from an executive chef who demonstrated how to make apple crumble.
