NINE MEN'S MORRIS

This game has travelled the world, evolving and changing as it has moved.

One of the oldest variations was discovered in an Egyptian temple built around 1440 BC.

Nearer to home, William Shakespeare mentions Nine Men's Morris in Act 2 Scene 1 of A Midsummer Night's Dream. At that time Nine Men's Morris was a much-loved pub game often played on a board chalked on a table.
