Two new children's centres have been opened in West Sussex. The 1.5m Broadfield Children's Centre in Crawley, which opened on 19 March, has a 30-place nursery, ten-place creche, parents' room and cafe area. On 12 April a 1.3m centre opened in Littlehampton, with a creche, a 50-place nursery and facilities for courses on health and well-being.
West Sussex also saw the opening of South Lodge Day Nursery in Worthing on 11 April, with plans to become a children's centre later this year. It provides full daycare for children aged three months to five years from 8am to 6pm. The nursery is developing other community services such as drop-in sessions, clinics and Job Centre Plus surgeries. West Sussex County Council is developing another two centres in Chicester and Bewbush (Crawley).
