One-year-old Kiara Boroumand and nursery nurse Karen Wilson celebrated the opening of Birtley Children's Centre in Gateshead, County Durham, on 10 December.
The centre will provide hundreds of families with support services,including an information hub, multi-purpose room, baby clinic anddrop-in area.
