Parents' experiences of a family literacy programme

Reports on a family literacy programme conducted in disadvantaged communities in Sheffield. Home visits and interviews at the beginning and end of the scheme took place with 85 parents, as well as interviews with a control group of 73 non-participating parents. Take-up and participation rates were extremely high for child-focused components of the programme, of which parents had very positive views, but the parent-focused education component had lower take-up.
