Key learning intentions

To explore sorting vehicles by the criteria of the speed at which they move? Adult:child ratio 1:4

Resources

* Pictures of vehicles such as rockets, helicopters, cars, lorries, boats and scooters *sorting circles, hoops or posting boxes * labels 'fast' and 'slow'

Activity content

* Look at the pictures with the children and allow plenty of time for discussion. Encourage them to share their experiences and knowledge of transport. Discuss the purpose of wheels and compare the different types of transport. n Talk about the different speeds at which the vehicles move.
