The resource, 'Policies for early years settings', has been produced in consultation with Ofsted. It includes detailed information on the policies needed for settings to meet Standard 14 of the National Standards, 'Documentation'.
The pack includes a reference book and CD and templates of a prospectus and registration form to help settings communicate with parents. Policies covered include admissions, behaviour management, special educational needs, health and safety, staffing and student placement.
PLA chief executive Steve Alexander said, 'Clear policies help to ensure that parents are aware of how settings are run, how their children will be cared for and their own responsibilities when using the service. This publication is an important tool for settings to use.'
