I have worked in nursery schools for 35 years and now own a private nursery. I am aware that as in all walks of life - including council nurseries - some are very good, some are very bad, and most are somewhere in between, and I would agree that private nurseries fall into these same categories.
However, if Ms Simmons thinks parents are uncaring about the standards of their chosen nursery, she is totally wrong. Parents care very much and investigate all manner of standards before they enrol their child at nursery, so you can be sure that if a private nursery is full it has a high standard in all respects.
