Queen's Golden Jubilee Award 2004

Users of playgroups and other forms of voluntary childcare provision across the UK are urged to nominate their setting for the Queen's Golden Jubilee Award 2004, which recognises and rewards excellence in voluntary activities carried out by groups of two or more people in the community. Edwina Hart, the Welsh Assembly's minister for social justice and regeneration, said voluntary groups made a valuable contribution to the wellbeing of communities and it was important to recognise their services. She said, 'If you know of a group of volunteers who regularly devote their time to helping others in your community, improve the quality of life and opportunity for others and provide an outstanding service, then nominate them.' Forms to be returned by 15 September are available on www.goldenjubilee.gov.uk, the public enquiry line on 0845 000 2002 or by e-mail gjaward@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk.
