Re-launch of the Early Childhood Forum

The speakers at the recent re-launch of the Early Childhood Forum at the National Children's Bureau in London were (from left) Paul Ennals, NCB chief executive, Forum chair Julie Fisher and Gillian Pugh, chief executive of Coram Family, who set it up in 1993 as the Early Childhood Education Forum when she was director of the NCB's Early Childhood Unit. The Forum is a well-established network of 45 national organisations in the early years that meets regularly to debate current issues, share practice and negotiate a consensus around new policy and practice issues in the field. The Forum's re-launch celebrated its becoming a fully independent organisation with its own elected chair. The NCB has a grant from the DfES Sure Start, Early Years and Childcare Unit.
