Registration delays force an amnesty

Childcare agencies which have not yet applied for registration under the new Scottish Executive legislation have been granted amnesty until 30 September. Deputy health minister Tom McCabe announced the amnesty last week as he urged providers who have been in business since before 1 April 2003 to apply for registration to the Care Commission before this date to 'avoid prosecution in the future'.
