Roald Dahl Funny Prize shortlist announced

The books shortlisted for the Roald Dahl Funny Prize, an annual award to recognise the funniest children's fiction, have been chosen.

Now in its fifth year, the Booktrust prize was created by Michael Rosen as part of his work as children’s laureate.

The prize, which has two categories - aged six and under, and seven-to 14-year-olds, aims to reward authors and artists who use humour to communicate with children.

The books shortlisted for the prize were chosen by a panel of judges comprising author Michael Rosen, broadcaster and comedian Mel Giedroyc, author and journalist Lucy Mangan, author, illustrator and winner of the 2011 seven-fourteen category Liz Pichon, and illustrator and author Ed Vere.
