A-L Nursery detectives

Develop children's growing interest in their surroundings by venturing beyond the nursery boundaries.

Planned learning intention

To observe, find out about and identify features in the place they live Adult:child ratio 1:6

Resources

Camera thick card laminator or sticky-backed plastic clipboard paper pen

Preparation

* Go for a short walk without the children and look for six easily identifiable features, such as a letterbox, drain or wooden seat. Take close-up photographs of the objects and have the photographs developed as large prints. Stick the best shot of each object to card and laminate or cover with sticky-backed plastic.
