Resources

Washing powder tablet bag, red felt, cotton wool, glitter, scissors, children's washable, PVA glue, craft eyes (you can buy these from WH Smith), pen and pencil, card

Step-by-step

* Draw an outline of Santa on the red felt. This should be roughly 10cm (top to bottom) by 8.5cm (left to right). You can use the template pictured.

* Draw another outline on a piece of card.

* Cut out the outlines and place the card version of the Santa template inside the netting. Glue the felt version on top of the netting, and on to the card template. This will prevent one side of the netting sticking to the other.

* Glue the craft eyes on the red felt and add cotton wool to the end of the hat.

* Use the cotton wool to give Santa some bushy eyebrows and a beard. Also use it to outline his hands and feet.

* Surround him with snow and sparkle by gluing more cotton wool and old Christmas decorations - such as stars, sprinkle glitter, bits of tinsel - all over the bag.

* Wrap up a little stocking filler of your choice - chocolate, sweets or fruit - and hang the Santa sack on the tree.

* You can also use the old laundry tablet bags to make similar tree decorations. Why not buy some green felt and make a Christmas tree? Or cut out a star to decorate the stocking filler?
