Scottish Independent Nurseries Association

The Scottish Independent Nurseries Association has said that it will not be able to become a registered body on behalf of its members for the purpose of registering with Disclosure Scotland, following confirmation that private providers do need to register (News, 2 May 2002). Patricia McGinty, a SINA director, said, 'Individual providers setting up with Disclosure Scotland is a daunting task and unfortunately there has been no financial help from the Government to assist organisations like SINA to do it on behalf of their members. We value the challenge of the new care standards, but private providers having to register is a step too far.'
