Scottish Opera for All

(Photograph) - Scottish Opera for All began its latest tour of Scottish schools in Aberdeen, where eight nurseries each took part in their own performance of the musical adventure 'Auntie Janet Saves the Planet'. The children played a group of voles forced from their homes by gigantic bulldozers. The children had previously been introduced to the opera's central characters through a specially commissioned storybook and a range of classroom activities. The tour continues until May, by which time there will have been 72 opera performances involving 3,500 children.
