Serving them well

We all know that presentation helps to make food more appealing and a company called Norseman Direct is helping to make even the humble school food trolley attractive and child friendly. For instance, the Salad Bar Trolley which has a large cut-out carrot at each end, allows young children to place their tray on a shelf and serve themselves with salad from the bowls provided. The trolley measures 640(h) x 510(l) x 520(w)mm and costs 195. There is also a selection of fruit distribution trolleys which have features such as a chopping board and washbowl which mean that the fruit can be prepared in any location (priced from 145) and a Tuckshop Trolley which has six trays positioned to show the full contents, whether it's fruit, vegetables or bottled water. This measures 1030(h) x 1020(l) x 520(w)mm, priced 235. Finally, there is a trolley with dual purpose pads fitted underneath, designed to keep salads and drinks cool in summer and cooked foods warm in cooler weather. It measures 750(h) x 1180(l) x 550(w)mm and features a combination of metal and grey melamine shelves and castors, two of which have brakes; priced 485. If space is at a premium, the Premier Servery folding table from Gopak could be the solution. This table, which has been trialled with the London Borough of Ealing, features three holes designed to house Gastronorm food containers for the serving of hot or cold food, plus room in front of the containers for the children to put trays or plates while they serve themselves. Once the meal is over, the containers can easily be lifted out and the table folded away. The table comes in three heights, 635, 698 and 760mm and is priced from Pounds 184.95.
