Ms Baston, who lives in Kinlochard, has been a registered childminder for two years. She has undertaken a ten-week pre-school education training course supported by Stirling Council and the Scottish Childminding Association and is starting an SVQ 3 this week. The partnership agreement means she is now able to offer nursery places to families in rural areas where lack of transport limits access to pre-school education. 'Parents can now use me as a nursery placement because I am qualified to deliver the full pre-school curriculum,' Ms Baston said. Stirling Council Children's Committee chair Ann Strang said, 'It is a vitally important partnership. It allows the council to provide good quality pre-school education in a pretty remote area of the district.'
