Smacks of truth

At the conference in London on encouraging helpful parental practices to replace smacking (News, 17 October), I was thoroughly entertained by children from Carr Manor High School in Leeds. Their sketches on how their parents act and react to them were funny and astute, as were their suggestions that SMACK is an acronym for Small-Minded Adults Clout Kids, while SMACK spelled backwards means Kids Cause Adults Major Stress. I wish all parents could have seen them perform, so they could reflect on any home truths about how they respond to their own children.
