Claire Warden, Mindstretchers

This special-event full-day training conference promises to inspire practitioners to utilise the outdoors to enhance their early years curriculum.

'I think the outdoors is a unique environment that we don't really make the most of in this country as yet,' says Claire Warden. 'It has an emotional effect on the children who work in it, and what you find is that it is a much freer, more flowing environment outside, which benefits kinaesthetic learners.'

One of the principal themes of the conference is motivation. 'It is about finding a motivational button, for everyone who attends, that then enables them to leave, get back to their centres, and look at the potential of what they've got. That's why it is called the potential of a puddle, because everyone has a puddle.'
