New from Granada Video, 'ready 2 learn on the building site: diggers and dumpers' has been developed with the early learning goals in mind. The video's creators are Jean Bolam, an ex-nursery school head, OFSTED inspector and pre-school educational consultant for several local authorities in London, and Ken Bolam, a TV theme composer whose credits include Miami 7. The Diggers and Dumpers video is the first in the new ready 2 learn range which relies on a blend of live action footage and original pop tunes to teach observation skills, counting and how things move. The songs are designed to help develop language skills and introduce new vocabulary associated with the video footage. A songsheet is provided with the video and it's up to you to decide which one out of Mass Excavator, Here Comes the Roller, Ten Yellow Hats and The Concrete Mixer will be the first to reach number one in the charts. Diggers and Dumpers includes nine songs, is approximately 35 minutes long and is priced 7.99 from Woolworths.
