I was looking for a scheme that was relevant to the complex business of childcare and pre-school education - something that the generic quality assurance schemes I had looked at did not really address. I also wanted something that was practical, that had potential for a team approach, and that would help us to develop further our provision.

When I read through Quality Counts, the quality assurance scheme produced by the National Day Nurseries Association, it became clear that this scheme would work for us.
