Special friends

Customise a persona doll to reflect the experience of children in your setting and give them the opportunity to explore emotions in a safe way. Sue Sheppy explains

Sue Sheppy explains

Dolls can be babies to care for or special friends with whom to share happy and sad times. They can help children come to terms with their emotions, by stimulating their imaginations and allowing them to re-enact scenarios encountered at home and in society.

Persona dolls can also have an invaluable role to play within a setting.

They are special dolls with their own personalities, life histories, likes and dislikes. They enable children to appreciate that words and actions can be hurtful, and encourage them to support and empathise with people experiencing discrimination.
