- Why were you entered for the National Institute of Adult ContinuingEducation Regional Adult Learner award for Adult Learners Week, 9-15May?
My tutor Adrian Whittaker nominated me to recognise my hard work inovercoming my dyslexia, gaining ESOL qualifications and NVQ level 2 inchildcare, after coming to the UK from Italy nine years ago with noqualifications.
- How did you feel about winning the award?
I am really proud and happy to have received the award. It has made mefeel a lot more confident and I feel more prepared to go on touniversity to study to become a primary school teacher.
- How have you found working as a nursery assistant?
I really like working with the children. I originally signed up with anagency to temp at nurseries, but after a position came up at BrightHorizons, where I had worked previously, I was given a two-year positionas a nursery assistant.
