- Why are you running in the Chippenham half-marathon?

The whole team at New Road are running to raise money for new climbingequipment that's more dynamic and adventurous than the shop-boughtplastic ones that just fade. Off-cuts of logs and planks make greatclimbing materials. It brings in problem-solving and the children do thethinking and the planning.

- How is the nursery getting involved?

The race runs right past the nursery so the children will be there withbanners and clapper sticks cheering us on. My wife Shan has had 15 halfmarathon T-shirts made up; six for the staff and eight for parents. Lastyear the kids did a mini-marathon so they have an idea of what it'slike.
