Stamp of approval for new exhibition

Children from two Belfast primary schools put delegates on their toes at Northern Ireland's first-ever Early Years and Primary Teaching Exhibition this month. Girls from Holy Cross Primary School in Belfast (pictured), the scene of recurring sectarian hostilities over recent months, performed traditional Irish dancing. They were followed by Scottish country dancers and a wind band made up of pupils from Strandtown Primary School in the city. The musical event was organised by the Professional Association of Teachers (PAT).

Childcare and education practitioners from all over Northern Ireland gave a warm welcome to the exhibition in the Hilton Hotel on 8 and 9 February. The event was co-sponsored by Nursery World, its sister publications the Times Education Supplement and Primary magazine, and PAT.
