Stephen Burke, director of the Daycare Trust, has announced that he will be leaving the childcare charity at the end of March to take up the post of chief executive of Counsel and Care, working for better care and housing services for older people. Mr Burke, who became director of the Daycare Trust in 2000, has led the charity in promoting children's centres in every community and securing substantial investment.
