Stolen childhood

At last someone is making sense! MP Barry Sheerman told the Professional Association of Teachers' annual conference, 'It seems sometimes that we are stealing childhood from the children in this country. Earlier and earlier we put them in schools.' Its not unusual for children to attend school just after their fourth birthday. It's little wonder that teachers are pulling their hair out in frustration at the little people who still require a nap and who cannot maintain concentration, leading to exhaustion or, occasionally, challenging or withdrawn behaviour which disrupts the rest of the class.
