A teddy bear leads a little boy to discover the world around him. The opportunities that are found are all within a child's reach, so the dogs represent an opportunity to run across the fields, the bunch of cats to climb trees. All the creatures who give the boy and the teddy bear ideas about what they can find out about the world follow them on the trail. In the end, two double fold-out spreads show silhouettes of all the creatures sitting together atop a hill, contemplating the stars and the moon.
