Mr Aldous, 43, is studying for an Open University degree in working in the early years. He recently returned to teaching nursery and reception classes at Falconhurst Combined School in Milton Keynes after working in the Middle East for several years.

Mr Aldous, who is married with two children, qualified with a BEd in 1983 and his first job was at a primary school in Hull. He said he has chosen to move into early years because it is exciting and rewarding to contribute to very young children's development. 'They have so much energy and learn so quickly.
