The Big Picture: Bus to Bangkok

Kensington International Kindergarten in Bangkok, Thailand, took part in Cardboard Challenge, a global event to raise awareness of the importance of children's creativity.

Kensington International Kindergarten, which follows the EYFS framework, was set the theme ‘Around the World in 80 Ways’ and created five different modes of transport, including a London bus (pictured).

Parents were then invited in to the nursery for a morning to view the work and create their own cardboard structures with their children.

Head teacher of Kensington International Kindergarten Donna Townsend said, ‘It was inspiring watching the parents and children working together as a team. The feedback was that the parents really enjoyed the morning and that they were inspired to be more creative at home with their children.’

Cardboard Challenge is run by children’s creativity and entrepreneurship organisation the Imagination Foundation, which was set up following the release of documentary Caine’s Arcade in April 2012.
