The Big Picture - LEYF's Olympic work of art

Provision
Children at London Early Years Foundation's (LEYF) Queen's Park Nursery are creating their own works of art to be included on a map of London touring the social enterprise's 23 settings in an Olympic-style relay.

To mark the start of the 2012 Olympics, children and staff from each nursery will help carry an 'Olympic Torch' across London, starting at the setting in Queen's Park, north west London, to the Marks Gate nursery in Barking and Dagenham, stopping at the charity's other nurseries en route.

The children at each nursery are also creating their own pieces of art to represent their local neighbourhood, which will be attached to a six-foot map of the capital. The map will be carried inside LEYF's Olympic torch to be displayed at the finish line in Barking and Dagenham on 27 July.
