The Countess of Wessex will give the Nower Wood Education Centre a Royal opening on 20 April, Surrey Wildlife Trust says.

Nestled in an ancient 81-acre bluebell woodland, Nower Wood, near Leatherhead, offers visitors an exciting programme of wild activities, including pond-dipping, bug hunts, crafts, Forest School sessions, tree identification, mammal studies and environmental surveys.

Teacher sessions are also available, including Forest School training. The site is rich in wildlife – all sorts of animals from great crested newts to dormice and badgers.

With three spacious heated classrooms, the new centre can accommodate up to 90 students at any time of year.
