The Big Picture: Who are these children?

Provision
An archivist is trying to trace the names of children in sketches by an artist's daughter who worked at the Cowgate Nursery School in Edinburgh in the 1940s/50s .

Betty McTaggart, daughter of William McTaggart, who is famous for his paintings of the sea and countryside, is thought to have worked at the Cowgate Nursery School. During her time there Ms McTaggart produced around 100 sketches of children, some drawn on scraps of paper.

She died in 1986, after which her nephew presented a collection of McTaggart family papers to the local history society.
