The first children's centre in Barnet, north London, opened last month. The Wingfield Children's Centre caters for up to 100 families, and offers 32 childcare places for two- to five-year-olds, a parent and toddler group, health services, access to a childminding network, alternative therapies and courses in subjects such as good parenting techniques, run in conjunction with Barnet college.
