The National Council for Curriculum and Assessment in Northern Ireland has published the results of its consultation, 'Towards a framework for early learning', which was launched in March 2004. The document states that to be effective, the new curriculum for children from birth to six years old 'must be grounded in the realities, the challenges and complexities of early childhood care in Northern Ireland'.
