The new St Ives Children's Centre in Cornwall opened with a story from local author Phil Moran, who read his latest book Soggy the Bear to children, parents and staff. Other activities on the day included baby massage, samba dancing and water play. Regular services at the centre are to include baby massage groups, a baby clinic and breastfeeding workshops, as well as computer training and a community development officer to advise parents. A private nursery is also due to open on the site in the spring.
