* The Staffordshire County sub-committee of the Pre-School Learning Alliance has received a prestigious Daisy & Tom Award for its work helping prisoners at HMP Stafford to maintain contact with their families. The award was presented by charity Action for Prisoners' Families. The PLA established special family visits to help prisoners maintain a parenting role with their children. The initiative also provides a parenting skills programme and counselling support.
