There's snow stopping us!

As sub-zero temperatures and snow from the ‘Beast from the East’ and incoming Storm Emma batter Britain, early years settings are embracing the wintry weather.

A member of staff from Pennies Day Nursery was determined not to let the snow stop her from getting to work, arriving in style on a tractor. The nursery group operates two settings in Maidstone, Kent and one in East Sussex.

At Ann Bernadt Nursery School in Peckham, London, the snow presented lots of opportunities for mark making.

Children from Bright Horizons Esher Day Nursery and Pre-School in Surrey have been painting shapes in the snow and practising writing their names. After some of the snow melted, staff spoke with the children about where it had gone, which lead to an ice melting activity.
