Time to hand on the title

The search is now on for the next Professional Nanny of the Year. The award, arranged by the Professional Association of Nursery Nurses in association with Nannytax, will be presented at October's Professional Nanny conference. Current holder and the first-ever Nanny of the Year, Louise Kirk (pictured), says, 'The award is wonderful because it's an opportunity for families to show their appreciation and recognition of their nannies. When I read on their nomination form how my employers felt about me and the contribution I made to their family, I felt that I'd won before I won!' Louise has enjoyed a higher profile ever since, such as when, along with other childcare representatives, she met children's minister Margaret Hodge at a round-table discussion last month, and personally challenged the minister about funding for nannies. Aspiring award winners must get their employers to nominate them and send in their entries by 30 June. For details and entry forms see the Latest News on the website www.pat.org.uk or call PANN on 01332 372337.
