Star of the show

A Nanny of the Year award will be the crowning glory of the next Professional Nanny conference on 2 October. The Professional Association of Nursery Nurses is introducing the award in memory of member Lisa Porter, who died tragically earlier this year. Nominees must be qualified to level 3 and have at least two years' nannying experience, and will be expected to submit a 500-word description of their typical day and attend an interview as well as the conference. So get your employer to nominate you now as Nanny of the Year on the entry forms available from PANN, 2 St James' Court, Friargate, Derby DE1 1BT (tel: 01332 372 337).

Last year's nanny conference was so successful that we've got an even bigger space at the Business Design Centre in Islington, London, with another selection of thought-provoking speakers and even more opportunities for nannies themselves to speak out in an open forum. Mark 2 October in your diary and watch this space for further details.
