At last year's Excellence in Childcare Awards (now re-named Childcare Stars), run by 4Children with Sure Start, Nursery World and Prima magazine, Carol Klein from St Neots in Cambridgeshire was awarded the title of Playworker of the Year. She was chosen because of the difference she made to Buccaneers out-of-school club. Her energy and dedication ensured that it was a happy, fun and caring place to be - so much so that the number of children attending the club had tripled in four years.
