Dog and Duck, magical toys with minds of their own, are the beloved playthings of Jenny and Joe, who live with their parents in a big old house in the country. When their owners' backs are turned the toys take on the children's personalities to explore the wonders of the world around them. Voiced by James Fleet and Josie Lawrence.

'Blue Peter'

(BBC 1, 5 to 5.25pm)

'Blue Peter' helps celebrate the launch of the BBC's two new children's digital channels - CBBC for children aged six to 13, and Cbeebies for pre-school children. The team preview some of the shows to be seen on the channels and Konnie Huq goes behind the scenes on one of CBBC's shows to help count it on air on time. Meanwhile, Chinese New Year is also celebrated in the programme with a traditional dragon dance.
