'The Good Birth Guide' (Channel 4, 7 to 8pm)

For the past year researchers from London's Imperial College and a company called Dr Foster's have been gathering data on Britain's maternity services. They have found huge regional variations in clinical procedures, potentially unsafe staff decisions in key areas and clear evidence that it's doctors, not mothers who are taking decisions. In particular, the research reveals a disturbing rise in the rates of Caesarian births.
